Leeks

Leeks are menbers of the onion family but pruduce a long stem instead of a bulb. They produce seed in the same way with a ball of seed on top of a long stem.

They are hardy plants and are best eaten after the first frosts of Autumn. They will last until Spring.

The seeds are sown in a seed tray or straight into a seedbed outside.		Here are the leeks coming up.
As soon as they are big enought they are put into rows outside.		By Autumn they should be big enough to eat.
